From the dusty markets and winding lanes of the Marrakesh medina to the awe inspiring Atlas Mountains to the infinity of the Sahara Desert and the breezy blue of the Essaouria coastline, you will have an unforgettable experience. You will learn about the Moroccan peoples and be immersed in their jewellery and their ancient traditions. Welcome!

We will wander the bustling souks, visit a private collection of worldwide ethnic jewels with its charming curator. We will visit trusted, specialist shops and lunch on fragrant terraces. We will dine either in our riad or a choice of interesting and attractive restaurants. The 6 day tour will focus on the treasures to be found here and we will have more time to really explore the shops, museums and palaces.
For the 12 day tour we will be setting off on day 4 to the beautiful South.
Marrakesh - The Red City
For the 6 day tour an immersive experience in Marrakesh only. The 12 day tour we are here for 4 days before we move on.
So we begin in the Red City, with its bustling Medina full of intriguing sights, sounds and smells. We will first orient ourselves to this extraordinary culture and its artefacts by visiting the Yves Saint Laurant museum which displays a superb collection of Berber arts, set in his breathtaking garden of cactii.

The Beautiful South
For the 12 day excursions we will be continuing in our spacious and comfortable bus through the changing scenery of desert plains and argan trees to the Atlanic ocean and the pretty town of Essaouria. It will be much more relaxed in this town, renowned for its music festivals and artist communities. It has a much smaller medina and the fresh seafood is divine! Again you will be guided to a wonderful selection of specialist jewellery and textile shops and the friendly faces of dealers I have known for years.
Taroudant, Ait Benhaddidhu and Ouarzazate
By day 7, on the road again, we will be in Taroudant staying in a stylish lodge set in lush tropical gardens. There is a small medina here with some more specialist dealers. Then by day 9 on to Ait Ben Haddidou, a world heritage site and our next home as we pass the saffron region of the Anti Atlas with sleepy villages where more interesting pieces of jewellery can be found. From Ait Ben Haddidou there will be a day trip to Ouarzazate, a last night on day 11 in Ait Ben Haddidou and then over the dramatic High Atlas mountains to return to Marrakesh by the afternoon and if you still have some items that cant be left behind we can return to the souks.
Back to Marrakesh and Goodbyes....
The evening of the 11th day will be our last meal together. We will have tasted, smelled, experienced and learned so many things about this extraordinary country, its history and its artefacts. We will have made new friends, some for many years. It will have been a very immersive learning experience indeed!
On the 12th day we say our goodbyes.
