A wonderful rare devotional miniature oil painting of Saint Theresa of Ávila, eventually one of the patron saints of Spain, set in an steel & brass pendant mount. The reverse containing a hand coloured-in engraving of the Virgin of Atocha above the letters ‘N S DE AT OCHA’ which is an abreviation of the ‘Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Atocha’ a church in Madrid from which this could have been a token of a pilgrimage.
