From the Ghomrassen region, a rare and collectable necklace (selsla) which looks fantastic worn. The central round pendant featuring a five pointed star intersperced with green and yellow glass stones is flanked by gilt khamsas with green stones.
This is described in Le Bijou Traditionnel en Tunisie published 1986 by Samire Gargouri Sethon pp 122 as 'an important piece of jewellery'. 
The area is known for the simple way of life of the resident Berber population.
Diameter of circular pendant 7cms, length of khamsas 6.5cms. Length of chain 68cms. Weight 147 grams. One of the chain links is slightly damaged but its is wearable.
