Lovely red handspun silk traditional Turkmen dress with machine embroidered front and cuffs. These are very hard to find nowadays. The silk is very soft yet hardwearing, it has to be as these dresses were worn to do all the chores in a womens life.
I would put it as mid 20th century.
There is some wear to the silk and some colour banding down the front, (please look at photographs carefully) but it is all there. There is a very tiny hole on a seam by the left hip and some minor staining. But this can be washed. The black trim on the v neck has a very little stitching missing. Very wearable and machine washable. Wide yellow selvedges were traditional features of these dresses.
